Get inspired with fresh September content ideas! Perfect for busy entrepreneurs who are marketing their business on social media.

I have a ton to share on social in September—what about you?

It’s hard to believe that the leaves will be changing soon and the air is going to get a little crisper, but September is almost here. This means I’ll be in Mexico soon for the Elite Woman Entrepreneur Retreat. I look forward to it each year—taking photos of inspiring women in a beautiful location. Seriously, it's one of the best events I participate in each year. Plus it will give tons of content to share, yay.

Even if you don't have a big event coming up, September brings a fresh start and a new season of possibilities. Whether you're gearing up for the last quarter of the year or simply looking to revitalize your content strategy, now is the perfect time to plan out your social media posts. To help you stay inspired and on track, I’ve pulled together some ideas from our September 2024 Content Caboodle™️

Before just jump into the September inspiration, I want to give a special shoutout to all The Plandipity Doer’s Community members. This month, we’re embracing the challenge of creating a "Live Video" Series—a powerful way to connect with your audience in real-time, stay motivated, and keep your content fresh. It’s one of the hardest content challenges of the year, or at least I think so! If you follow me on Instagram @MoreThanSerendipity and you see me go Live, I would greatly appreciate your support.

Okay, let’s talk content ideas! Keep reading for a few content inspirations pulled straight from this month’s Content Caboodle that will help you engage with your audience and keep your content relevant.

If you’re new to my content, you may not be familiar with the Content Caboodle™️. It’s just one of the awesome tools I create each month for my Plandipity Doers. It ensures you never have to start from scratch when planning your content and is a tremendous resource when you need a post idea right now! If you haven’t joined us yet, now’s a great time to hop on board and see how simple social media marketing can actually be!

Here is the calendar from this month's Content Caboodle™️

1. The First Day of Fall (September 23rd)

Autumn is a season of change, reflection, and new beginnings. The first day of fall is a great opportunity to connect with your audience on a personal level. You might share how the changing season mirrors changes in your business or personal life. Consider posting a cozy, inviting photo that captures the essence of fall—think colorful leaves, warm drinks, or a cozy sweater.

Tips for Working It Into Your Plan:

  • Personal Reflection: Share how the new season reflects changes in your business or life, and invite your audience to do the same.

  • Seasonal Promotions: Tie in any seasonal products, services, or promotions you’re offering that align with the fall theme.

Visual Ideas:

  • A photo of a fall scene, like colorful leaves or a warm cup of coffee.

  • A video of you enjoying a fall activity, like a walk in the park or preparing for the season.

Inside the Content Caboodle, Doers will find a free Canva Template they can customize.

2. Sharing a Personal Story

Personal stories are a powerful way to build connections with your audience, showing them the real person behind your brand. This September is particularly significant for me as it marks the 20th anniversary of my mother’s passing. She has been the inspiration and motivation behind my entire entrepreneurial journey, and I’m planning to share this deeply personal story in my content next month.

Opening up about something so personal can be daunting, but it’s also incredibly impactful. It allows your audience to see the heart behind your business and often resonates with those who have had similar experiences.

Tips for Working It Into Your Plan:

  • Timing: Choose a day when your audience is most engaged to share your story for maximum impact.

  • Follow-Up: Consider creating follow-up posts that explore the lessons learned or how your experience has shaped your business.

Visual Ideas:

  • A candid photo of yourself that captures the emotion or significance of the story.

  • A short video where you speak directly to your audience, sharing your story in your own words.

3. The Pumpkin Spice Debate

Ah, pumpkin spice—the flavor that sparks heated debates every fall! Whether you love it or hate it, the Pumpkin Spice debate is a fun, light-hearted topic that’s sure to get your audience talking. It’s a safe conversation starter that can drive engagement and bring a little seasonal fun to your content.

Tips for Working It Into Your Plan:

  • Polls & Questions: Use polls or open-ended questions to invite your audience to share their opinions on pumpkin spice. It’s a great way to boost engagement!

  • Tie It to Your Brand: If relevant, tie the debate into your products or services, such as offering a pumpkin spice-themed promotion or special.

Visual Ideas:

  • A playful graphic asking “Love it or hate it? Pumpkin Spice—Yay or Nay?”

  • A video taste test of pumpkin spice products, with your reaction and thoughts.

You may have figured out that I think planning is important—so important it’s in the name of my community, PLANdipity Doers! While spontaneity can be fun, I highly recommend having a foundational content plan based on your business and marketing goals. A well-thought-out plan not only saves you time but also ensures that your content is consistent, strategic, and aligned with the message you want to convey.

In September, I will be teaching the Effortless Content Creation System workshop in person! If you are local to Broomfield, Colorado, and would love to join us for a hands-on workshop where I will help you develop your 2025 foundational content plan, teach you how to leverage AI in your marketing efforts and show you how I organize and streamline my content, click here to get all the details.

If you haven’t started your September content plan yet, now is the perfect time. And if you need a little extra support, The Plandipity Doer’s Community is here to help you every step of the way.

Happy Creating!
